Same thing happened (happening) to me....one customer filed a "request" and then it was delivered.  Ebay still punished me with a defect even though shipped 2 hours 13 minutes after pymt.  Philippines cust ser would hear none of it and stated I need to speed up shipping....it was a surreal conversation...and they were nasty about it.  I though we were protected from this if tracking shows acceptance w/in stated handling time?  Cust ser refused to listen to this even when I read their own rules.

eBay process for Money Back Guarantee contradicts it's own written policy. The written policy tells buyers to contact seller first before opening a request, but if they click on the link provided in help when they haven't received an item, it automatically opens a request. Wasn't this supposedly fixed? Whoever is programming the pages, and those approving the pages do not even know eBay's written policy.

Same here.  Customers start to grip even thought they see the tracking and know it is not the sellers fault.  Then they get it and never hear another word.  Huge time waste answering emails demanding items they know I can do nothing about.

Both 1st class & Priority USPS pkgs (both before & during the holidays) are often sitting for MANY days at both the initial & the destination sorting facilities. Also, many pkgs still seem to be "prize winners" & receive trips/vacations around the country (even if they were only being sent 1 or 2 states away).Chronically deficient service should NOT be rewarded with Jan. price increases! We update buyers during the pkgs' trips - even tho' they can follow the tracking - but EB still dings sellers!

We are seeing a ton of scans for late packages saying "processing exception" and none of the drivers or people behind the counter know what this means. We had all of our First Class Mail shipment from two weeks ago Monday scanned as delivered the following day and then several days later scanned "forwarded" and took 9 to 12 days to be delivered. We have many late items and problems in the last few months but now it's really getting out of hand...

We've started automatically upgrading first class to Priority as it is taking up to 7 business days for first class to arrive. At 70-100 packages a day, that adds up, but what can you do. Gotta keep customers happy. We tell them all that the only guaranteed service is Express mail.

Same here. Even worse, I've had 4 packages within the last 6 weeks DELIVERED to completely different cities (and often different states) than addressed. I open a USPS insurance claim only to have it denied. I have reported USPS to the Insurance Commissioner in PA (my state) and TN (the intended delivery state of the first claim). I have also contacted my local media's consumer advocate to see if they can look into it. I just found out you can only sue USPS in FEDERAL court (WAY too expensive!)

UglySweaterShop. U R taking a BIGGER risk of trouble sending Priority vs. 1st Class. Unless you have remarkably RUDE buyers I've found that 1st Class buyers are more PATIENT and FORGIVING.  Priority Mail makes buyers FEEL ENTITLED to the 2 or 3 business day delivery and THEY then are all the more likely to GO BALLISTIC and ding the seller 4 USPS SNAFU. Right today I dread a 12/8 Priority box deliverd just yesterday 12/14. NO scans at all between Houston and East Coast City buyer.

No scans until item is delivered, some no scans at all. Answering way to many messages of Wheres my Item.  A real disaster.

It's a shame FedEx and UPS charge so much for light weight packages or ALL my orders would be shipped thru them. I think it's funny that the USPS blames the internet and email for their billion dollar losses each year, when a lot of it has to do with their poor customer service and shoddy run business! Screw the government, privatize the Postal Service!

Here's One Example, Express Package International has not been delivered - All I see it left the USA December 08.  I think the plane crashed in the ocean ( EC903807317US ) According the the site Express takes 4-5 Business Days for Delivery All my Priority Packages are being treated like First Class Mail.  Here's an example, Five Days for Delivery ( 9405509699938012180680) So far I've had no open cases for late shipments, but wouldn't be surprised if someone complains

One missend, one package that sat in a distribution center for four days.  Is it worse this year?

I have reported this for 3 years. Every year, the USPS is doing something illegal with the mail, THEY SEND IT BY GROUND SERVICE! They have to meet certain budgets and those budgets will reflect the managers vacations, pay raise and budget for every USPS facility, thus, they ship a big percentage of packages ground shipping but they are careful not to do it with Priority, it does happen to Priority many times. The USPS is playing this SCAM and they have the nerve to raise prices after this.

Tracking appears stalled and you cannot find out where the packages are.

I just had a Priority Mail shipment take 10 days to arrive, from NY to WI. Just terrible. Why did I pay extra money for such lousy service??

Jet.com is now (Friday 12/18/15) warning customers they may not get orders by Christmas due to nationwide shipping delays. See update on current EcommerceBytes Blog post. Thanks to everyone for calling attention to shipping problems here.

The USPS closes and consolidated Processing Centers and mail service gets worse and worse.  It has a major impact on e-commerce sellers who have to deal with dissatisfied buyers when their packages don't arrive on time.  It is frustrating to a seller because the transit of the package is totally out of the control of the e-commerce merchant.  And now we are going to have to pay more starting in January for this poorest of service.  Shame on the USPS.

Same here. USPS really needs to do something. main problem is their decision in the "slower season" to consolidate sort facilities that are now overwhelmed and cannot keep up with the work.  Very frustrating.  As to getting "dinged" on ebay , it won't matter come February, anyway they only look at whether package was shipped on time.  It is still a customer service hassle especially on some sales where a package has to be considered lost after 10 days.

After having refunded 4 INR claims, we called the supervisor at our local post and requested for a meeting. We shared a list of tracking numbers that showed packages left our local post office BUT were being held up at one of the MDCs - local and at the destination over a period of several days. The supervisor came clean immediately and informed us that ALL Amazon shipments were a higher priority - a decision over which he had no control. Separately, Amazon screwed us for late delivery!
