TurnTo Exploits the Social Component of Shopping

Fri June 19 2009 16:37:09
TurnTo CEO and founder George Eberstadt sat down with AuctionBytes Editor Ina Steiner at the recent Internet Retailer conference to explain how his service helps shoppers learn more about products by connecting with their friends who have made similar purchases. By leveraging the Facebook platform and other social networking sites such as Twitter and LinkedIn, TurnTo's widget can help retailers tell visitors when they know someone who has experience with their products or services. George explains how TurnTo protects users' privacy (they learned from Facebook's Beacon experience), while still providing "trusted references." Run Time: 8:21
