eBay offered sellers some advice on how to make their listings show up once it moves to a "product-based" marketplace, away from its current "listing-based" format. Mat Ste-Marie, who manages C2C Selling Experience, presented information about eBay's new shopping experience and how it would impact sellers during a webinar on Wednesday.

eBay Hosts Webinar for Sellers on Product Catalog Expansion

eBay is hosting a webinar tomorrow to help sellers prepare for its transition to what it calls a "product-based shopping experience." It also said it would reveal the details of its next Seller Update in May.

As announced in February as part of the Spring Seller Update, eBay sellers must associate their listings with the eBay catalog before the end of April for the following categories:

- Amazon Echo, Fire Stick
- Apple iPad, iPhone, TV
- Dyson AM Cooling Fan, AM Fan Heater, AM Humidifier, Pure
- Google Chromecast, Home
- Jawbone Jambox
- NEST Thermostat

eBay CEO Devin Wenig Earns 143 Times His Employees

eBay CEO Devin Wenig makes 143 times the average salary of employees, according to company filings. eBay disclosed the information last week as required by Section 953(b) of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Here's exactly what eBay reported with regard to the eBay CEO Pay Ratio:

- The median of the annual total compensation of all of our employees, other than Mr. Wenig, was $122,891.

- Mr. Wenig’s annual total compensation, as reported in the 2017 Summary Compensation Table, was $17,590,833.

eBay Board Concerned for Security of CEO Devin Wenig

Concerned about the security of eBay CEO Devin Wenig, the company's board of directors encouraged him to use the company airplane for personal travel. According to its proxy statement released this week:

"Prior to September 2017, Mr. Wenig had access to the corporate airplane for up to 50 hours of personal travel, subject to Mr. Wenig fully reimbursing the Company for the incremental costs associated with such use. 

"Beginning in September 2017, the Compensation Committee encouraged Mr. Wenig to use the corporate airplane for personal travel where relevant to reduce possible security concerns."

Backlash over Amazon Customer Crackdown Continues

Amazon cracked down on buyers last week, suspending them without warning or explanation, leaving thousands of customers trying piece together the reason for their sudden bans. 

EcommerceBytes wrote about the incident on Sunday, and after a backlash on social media, other tech publications began to pick up the story. Business Insider, which didn't quote Amazon, was sympathetic to the suspended customers, while CNBC appeared to blame third-party sellers for getting their buyers in trouble by compensating them for leaving reviews.
