Summary:
Auction site OnlineAuction.com, also known as OLA.com, was ranked on average the second-lowest site by respondents, getting below average ratings in Profitability, Customer Service, Communication and Ease of Use. Launched in 2004, it operates differently from most sites in that it has a flat monthly fee. Many respondents appreciated that OnlineAuction.com had toll-free phone support. While it has loyal fans and a community, most sellers say the sales aren't there. OnlineAuction.com came in fifteenth out of fifteen as a recommended selling venue.

Reader Comments - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly:
Superior staff and friendly members make this a GREAT site - just gets better!
***
Outstanding customer service and truly amazing group of sellers. VERY affordable to sell, and lots of helpful people. Great site!
***
their costs are very reasonable. More like your own web site and allow personal contact between buyer or seller.
***
Great friendly site. Joined more than a year ago and have never regretted it. Everybody helps everybody. A great community. People actually have a voice. A great place to be.
***
no fees, means all my money is mine, 8 bucks a month is the best out there, and so friendly, i made so many friends i can't count them all! ola.com is number 1 and always will be my selling venue! try it, you wont go anywhere else!
***
This site is easy to use, very easy to list. I have had some success selling on this site; can't beat $8.00 a month and no final value fees; site could use a few improvements, such as with invoicing, and a buyer tutorial, but otherwise it's a pretty good site for selling and buying. And it is easy to reach a real person, by email or phone, if there is a question or problem.
***
This site is really customer based, the fees are the best out there, fairly new but a very great site, the service is great they call you and answer the phone when you call, the people are the greatest and are always willing to help, easy to list and the bottom line is when you list some thing or sell something you don't have the fee's that others charge, Great site
***
Personal phone calls from staff and members with help, games with valuable prizes, continual free upgrades, EXTREMELY affordable to list, this is just the BEST site!
***
OLA actually does everything they can to help encourage sales, by offering fun games and in the case of their monthly scavenger hunt, actually offers $100 in listing upgrades to the winner.
***
I don't like the monthly charge for both sellers and buyers. Sales are almost exclusively between sellers, it is a cliquey club. Does Google even know it exists?
***
I was 1 of the original founding members at OLA and despite marketing for them for well over a year, rarely did I sell anything. Too many promises were never kept by the owner. Left and never looked back.
***
very little traffic - difficult to find products. Search capabilities not buyer friendly. This was a waste of money. Also slow to invest in changes and technical updates.
***
Could use improvements in programming to make it more user friendly for buyers especially
***
OLA has irrational rules. For example, I was unable to list a best-selling novel called "The Help" because OLA prohibits the use of the word Help, and is unable/unwilling to change their stance.
***
OLA's interface is way too clunky to use...Google feed issues, no real answers to site issues...a lot of rah-rah for the site, but not a site I would recommend for either seller or buyer. I left this one behind too.
***
Fees for "Founding member" and even monthly selling fees are paid even if you don't sell...I just don't like that. If the site design were brought into the current century, it might be worth it
***
For some reason OLA isn't really catching on. Part of the problem is an unattractive and cumbersome site to navigate. I think it's a little confusing for buyers too. They just can't seem to draw the traffic.
