eBay announced that starting Sept. 10, its Electronics Sellers must list using the eBay catalog whenever there is a product match for selected Computers & Tablets categories. The eBay Catalog is an online library of product information that includes product details and stock images. eBay says listing with the catalog can help sellers both list their items more quickly and make it easier for buyers to find their products.

The Computers & Tablets categories now required to be used are: CPUs & Processors, Motherboards, and PC Desktops & All-In-Ones.

Listing with the catalog has already been required in many categories, especially Electronics categories such as Apple Laptops, Camcorders, Cell Phones & Smartphones, DVD & Blu-Ray Players, Digital Cameras, Home Theater Systems iPods & MP3 Players, and Printers. It has also been required for Textbooks. The full list of Electronics categories required to list with the catalog is available on the eBay website.

"If you sell in any of these categories, take action now to update your existing listings. You'll also be required to list all new items with the catalog in these categories whenever there's a product match. Listing with the catalog helps buyers find your items faster, so find out which of your listings should be listed with the catalog and update your listings today," read the announcement.

EBay had previously announced that listing with the catalog would be required with more categories in its Fall 2012 Seller Update.
