Marcus himself headed mobile at PayPal before taking over following Scott Thompson's departure. Upon naming him President in March, eBay CEO John Donahoe said Marcus would bring a "founder's perspective" and "start-up energy" to PayPal. Marcus said Ferguson has a strong track record of delivering: "the ability to develop and drive a global product vision; a deep knowledge and understanding of the customer experience; an entrepreneurial spirit; an innate capability to cut through the clutter and simplify things; and finally an extensive experience in payments and financial services products." Ferguson has led product teams at Yahoo, served as GM for Yodlee, founded LoanBack, which has processed over $1.5B in "friends and family" loans; and co-founded Moneycard Financial. |
