eBay is rolling out changes announced as part of its 2012 Spring Seller Update, and Top Rated Sellers (TRS) received a customized email from eBay explaining how they would be affected by the changes.

Beginning in June, eBay is requiring TRS sellers to upload tracking information within their stated handling time on 90% or more of their transactions with U.S. buyers. And as of June 1st, TRS sellers will only receive the 20% TRS commission discount if they include 1-day handling and a minimum 14-day return policy with a money-back refund window.

eBay's email to one seller read, "You already upload tracking information, so you're on track to keep your Top-rated status. To maintain your discounts, add the combination of 1-day handling and a minimum 14-day return window with a money-back refund option to as many of your listings as possible. For personalized advice and tips on how to integrate these services, you can schedule a FREE consultation with the eBay Seller Outreach Team."

At the end of April, Top Rated Sellers can check the new "Listing Improvement" section of the Selling Manager summary page to see which listings need to be updated to meet the new standards and then edit those listings in bulk.

eBay also posted a message on its announcement board reminding all sellers about the spring changes, including a new policy starting this month in which sellers will receive an automatic 5-star Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) for communication when they specify 1-day handling, upload tracking by the end of the next business day, and when no communication was needed between the seller and the buyer.
