Hanover is using GSI Commerce to fulfill orders for its The Company Store and Company Kids brands. Hanover Direct CEO Don Kelley said the relationship would enable the company to grow its business and focus on core strengths including marketing, branding, merchandising and customer service, and less on backend fulfillment operations. eBay's announcement of the new contract included a quote from Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, who said GSI Commerce employed approximately 1,000 full-time and seasonal workers and said the new business would add 60 new jobs. eBay acquired GSI Commerce last year for $2.4 billion. The unit is headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and powers ecommerce sites for hundreds of large retailers and brands including Adidas, Timberland, American Eagle Outfitters, and operates call centers and fulfillment centers on behalf of its clients. |
