As previously announced, Amazon Product Ads added new categories available for advertising effective June 6, 2011. Merchants can now advertise products in the Musical Instruments, Grocery and Gourmet, and Pet Supplies categories. The minimum bids for the new categories can be viewed and edited in Seller Central (log in required).

Merchants need pre-approval to advertise grocery items with Product Ads, and Amazon.com reminded advertisers they can now upload Google Base tab-delimited (.txt) and Yahoo Store (catalog.xml) files via FTP.
