In addition to its Alibris and Monsoon Works selling solutions, Monsoon Commerce also owns the Alibris marketplace and provides white-label marketplaces for retailers. Monsoon is well established among media and booksellers and has successfully expanded into general merchandise, consumer electronics, toys and games, apparel and other categories. Brian Elliott, CEO of Monsoon Commerce, said the acquisition was complementary to its existing offerings and would provide sellers with a comprehensive solution that improves their efficiency and expands their reach into more demand-generating online properties. Stone Edge will join the Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions division but will continue to operate out of Philadelphia and be led by Barney Stone, the founder of Stone Edge Technologies. |
