Etsy Introduces Localized Homepages for European Users

Etsy has launched localized homepages for German, French, Dutch and UK members. Users viewing the Etsy homepage in any of the localized languages will also see a translated header and footer across all pages, though categories will remain in U.S. English. Registration and sign-in pages will also be in the local language.

Etsy has also added a new Regional Settings link in the footer of the site where users can set preferences for homepage language and currency. Etsy said it would roll out the changes gradually - a small percentage of members can now see the new home pages along with the Regional Settings link.

The marketplace is also celebrating Euro Week this week. From March 21 through March 27, 2011, it will feature European art and artists of Etsy on special home pages. Etsy is also holding events in Germany, UK and France this week, including a beginner-seller bootcamp in London.

Etsy users represent more than 150 countries worldwide.
