Etsy announced Tuesday it was moving way from supporting Flash code and, as a result, removed some applications from its site, including Poster Sketch. Etsy said Flash applications prove difficult in many ways, including being slow to load and using a lot of computing resources.

The following applications were slated to be removed on Tuesday: Time Machine v.1, Editors' Picks, Colors v.2, Connections, Birthdays, Voter, Tag Fractals, Poster Lookup, Poster Sketch, Workshop, and Recent Custom Creations.

Other features on the site that are currently in Flash will be moved out of Flash in the future, and Etsy said it would create non-Flash alternatives for the popular Flash features.
