Dutta was Chief Financial Officer during eBay's high-growth years when revenue grew from $430 million to $4.5 billion, and later heading eBay subsidiaries Skype and PayPal before serving as Executive Vice President of eBay and President of eBay Marketplaces. As chief financial officer of eBay, Dutta oversaw financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, investor relations, and finance support for all business operations. Dutta presided over eBay's quarterly financial conference calls with CEO Meg Whitman. Some of the analysts who interacted with him left remembrances on a Wall Street Journal blog post written by reporter Nick Wingfield, along with comments from friends and colleagues. eBay CEO John Donahoe sent a letter to employees on Monday, calling Rajiv Dutta one of eBay's most talented and inspirational leaders. |

Former eBay CFO Rajiv Dutta lost his battle with colon cancer on Monday. He joined eBay in 1998 as finance director where he spent 10 years, and joined Elevation Partners in 2009.
