Etsy Sellers Become Frustrated with RetailMeNot Coupons

Sellers on Etsy have reported problems with coupons on RetailMeNot.com. Sellers use the coupon site to post coupons good for items in their individual Etsy shops, but when shoppers click on the coupons, they are sometimes taken to the main Etsy website instead of to the seller's own shop.

Apparently some shoppers are then trying to apply coupons to any Etsy seller, not necessarily the merchant offering the coupon, and are expecting all Etsy sellers to honor the coupon codes.

The problem may stem from the way the sellers enter their coupons on RetailMeNot. AuctionBytes found coupons that did direct RetailMeNot shoppers directly to stores, such as this coupon from reflectionsofkayla for 10% off a purchase of $25 or more:

"Receive 10% off your purchase of $25 or more, applies to product and not shipping. Convo me before you checkout."
