Bonanza is testing a shipping calculator from AuctionInc, thanks to input from its users. In September the company's founder Bill Harding explained his frustration with getting the shipping calculator to be consistently accurate - the shipping calculator does not always match what sellers are charged, he wrote, despite having spent about as much time on the shipping calculator as on key Bonanza features such as item traits, Twitter/Facebook integration, and site search.

Harding said that Bonanza directly communicates with the individual carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx), telling them exactly what dimensions and weight and location the package is being shipped to, "and still they quote us prices that do not match our sellers' expectations."

He put out a call on the company's blog for suggestions for third-party shipping calculator solutions, and several sellers suggested Paid's AuctionInc shipping calculator. Bonanza evaluated AuctionInc and Sonicode, initiated discussions with AuctionInc, and began testing it internally this week. Chief Product Officer Alex Berg told AuctionBytes he hoped to have something in beta form soon.
