PayPal launched a second version of its mobile app for Google's Android operating system featuring "bump" technology that allows users to tap two phones together to send money. The company said over the last six months, PayPal generated nearly twice the mobile payment volume it did in all of 2009 and expects to close out the year with over a half a billion dollars of mobile payment volume.

The PayPal Mobile for Android application is free and is available in the Android Market. PayPal's mobile information hub is located at PayPal.com/mobile.
