Nearly two weeks after eBay Live, and I'm still absorbing all that went on. I've included a wrap-up article in today's issue about the conference, where you can find direct links to photos, articles and audio interviews I conducted while at the show.

This year's conference had a more serious tone than the previous three events. San Jose is not a vacation spot and hotels are expensive, so perhaps there were fewer "casual" attendees.

Interesting news came out of eBay Live, including eBay's launch of ProStores, a web-hosting service eBay is pitching to its sellers. eBay also reiterated their interest in China with an agreement with Global Sources, and launched the Reseller Marketplace.

The Standard newspaper reports that eBay launched its PayPal China site this weekend at, see Read AuctionBytes Newsflash to keep up with all the industry news.

Last issue we published a trivia quiz. Five people who submitted correct answers will receive a free MP3 player from DJ England, Ann Bogardus, Ron Lee, Gary "Lucky" Hopkins and Rick Korsberg. The questions and answers are in this week's "This & That" column.

David and I always enjoy reading your letters and posts in the AuctionBytes Forums. Thanks for letting us know what you think of developments in the online auction industry.

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and thanks for reading.
