Sellers Choice Awards Get Social: Voting Now Open

A record number of readers participated in this year's nomination process for the Sellers Choice Awards in which sellers rate the online marketplaces on which they sell. The awards give merchants, who are rated by their customers every day, a chance to turn the tables and let their opinions count by letting marketplaces know their strengths and weaknesses.

This year, in recognition of the fact that sellers are bringing commerce to every corner of the Internet, we included social networking sites in the nomination process in addition to auction sites, classifieds sites and fixed place marketplaces. Not surprising given the impact such sites are having on shopping, two of the big three social networking sites garnered enough nominations to make it into the final "sweet 16."

Big-name commerce sites Amazon, eBay, Craigslist and Etsy are again among this year's finalists along with some smaller marketplaces and some niche sites, but past awards have shown that size doesn't matter when it comes to how good a job merchants believe a site is doing.

Be sure to cast your vote now in the 5th annual Sellers Choice Awards, rating the marketplaces you use on profitability, customer service, communication and ease-of-use. Tell us how likely you are to recommend each to a friend or colleague, and leave detailed comments to provide color on your ratings to help readers better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the sites. Look for the results in the next issue of EcommerceBytes Update.
