Vertical Response came in first place with an overall score of 8.4. Helping it garner the top spot was its fees and reliability. "Extremely easy," wrote one seller. " If we come across a stumbling block, their customer service has been right on top of the situation and helped us through it," wrote another.

Constant Contact came in second place with an overall score of 7.4. Its highest score was in reliability, followed by customer service. "Very reliable," wrote one seller. But another said the service had a "high learning curve."

MailChimp came in third place with an overall score of 7.0, and earned its highest score for fees. however, one seller wrote, "I'm still on the free package, but the next tier seems really expensive."
