eBay Runs Invitation Only Promo Leading up to Fee Overhaul
By Ina Steiner
eBay invited a subset of sellers to participate in an exclusive free-listing promotion in certain categories. Last week, eBay announced it would undertake a major fee restructuring this year and would make more free listings available to all sellers on a permanent basis.
In the meantime, sellers who received an invitation to participate in the latest promotion can list up to 25,000 fixed price listings and pay no listing fees. The promotion is split into two time periods and includes only certain categories.
Invited sellers can list up to 25,000 listings from March 24, 2013 - April 30, 2013, and they can list up to 25,000 listings from May 1, 2013 - May 31, 2013. Sellers who are eligible to participate would have received an email or message through eBay's messaging system. The promotion is activated with the seller's qualifying eBay User ID and is not transferable.
The promotion includes 3, 5, 7, 10 and 30-day listing durations. eBay is limiting the promotion to certain subcategories within the Home & Garden; Musical Instruments; Business & Industrial; Sporting Goods; and Sports Memorabilia, Cards & Fan Shop categories.
All other fees apply, see eBay website for details and restrictions.
