eBay Sends Invitation-only Promo to Store Owners

eBay sent an invitation to some sellers to participate in a 3-day promotion November 12 - 14, 2012. Invitees can list up to 5,000 fixed-price listings during the promotion and pay zero insertion fees.

The promotion, like many others eBay has been running recently, is available by invitation only. Sellers that qualify for participation will have received an email, and/or a message in My eBay. The promotion is then activated with the seller's qualifying eBay User ID.

A number of eBay Store owners received the invitation. Those who pay 5 cents/listing said the promotion was not enticing, since the most they would save is $250 in listing fees.

As with another eBay promotion that ran from November 8 - 11, 2012, this promotion is experiencing a glitch in which eBay charges sellers the listing fee when they list eligible items. In the first promo, eBay spokesperson Ryan Moore assured invited sellers they would be credited for the listing fees for eligible listings.

The promotion is for invited sellers only and is not transferable. All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.

Update: Article edited to show the promotion is a 3-day sale, not a 2-day sale. The promotion includes 30-day listings, but Good 'Til Cancelled duration listings are not eligible.
