Etsy Records $76.8 Million in GMV for September

Etsy released its monthly sales data for September, revealing another strong month. Etsy sellers sold almost 4 million items valued at $76.8 million in the month of September, after refunds and cancellations. Unit sales were 73% higher year-over-year, while dollar sales were 69% higher.

In May, Etsy had raised $40 million in funding to expand internationally and build products services for its sellers. The number of new members joining in September was up 1.7% from August at 866,750, or up 81% higher than September 2011. Sellers listed 2.53 million new items in the month, 2.9% higher than August's 2.46 million, and 26% higher than September 2011.

Traffic was up 25% year-over-year - the site recorded 1.42 billion page views in September, the same as August, which was a record for the marketplace.
