Etsy merchant unit sales were up 68% year-over-year to 3.8 million items, or up 12.4% from July 2012. New members were up 77% in August year-over-year to 851,871, and 2.46 million new items were listed in the month, 6.0% higher than July and 24% higher year-over-year. Etsy hit a record amount of traffic in August at 1.42 billion page views, just barely exceeding the previous record of 1.4 billion page views set in January, and 22% higher than August 2011.

Etsy recorded gross merchandise sales of $76.2 million in August (the amount of goods sold on the site after refunds and cancellations), which was 9.7% higher than the previous month ($69.5 million). August sales were up 70% compared to August 2011.
