eBay Tests Site Redesign - Again
By Ina Steiner
Many sellers have been reporting seeing a new design of the eBay header this week. On Saturday, for example, the EcommerceBytes Blog wrote about a new design sellers were seeing in their My eBay account pages. From screenshots sent in, it looks similar to a design eBay had been testing in May.
"Not sure if you've seen the new eBay design," wrote one seller who saw the design on the homepage. "I am seeing it and I noticed one particularly interesting thing - there is no longer a "community" tab on the homepage and no indication of where to find the links that used to be on that page."
eBay has yet to respond to EcommerceBytes' inquiries about the new design or about the testing.
One thing that jumps out at most users who've seen it is the size of the search box - it's much bigger. The new design eliminates the community tab at the top right, instead placing community links at the bottom right of the page. It also features a new category pulldown box at the very top of the page to the right of the eBay logo.
You can see a screenshot of the design eBay was testing in May on this EcommerceBytes Blog post.
