Etsy Tests Saved Item Stash for Casual Perusal
By Ina Steiner
How many times have you been shopping online and want to put aside items you're interested in but not quite sure you want to purchase just yet? Etsy now has a cure for the laid back shopper - a saved item stash.
Etsy is testing the feature, which is in the "prototype" stage, and has received feedback from Etsy users on this page.
Prototypes allow Etsy to gather data and observe how people use new features - there's no guarantee that Etsy will a actually launch a prototype, and Etsy warns users they may not always work as expected.
The "saved item stash" prototype offers users "an easy way for you to gather items as you shop. Simply drag and drop items to the bottom of the page to stash them away for later. You can save items from search results, category pages, listing pages, and even the activity feed. To access the items you've saved, just move your mouse towards the bottom of any page and click the grey bar that appears. You can also re-arrange and share the items you've gathered."
Initial reaction to the feature was positive. Wrote one user, "Really looking forward to this. These opt-in prototype experiments with the feedback etc. are one of the truly great things about Etsy."
