The U.S. Postal Service announced it has added PayPal as a payment option for its Click-N-Ship online postage application. In 2009, it had integrated the shipping app with Bill Me Later (owned by PayPal). The Postal Service said PayPal fits into its expanding online strategy to make it easier and more convenient for customers to do their postal business anytime, anywhere.

The USPS has been working with eBay since 2004 to offer integrated shipping and label solutions, and 2 years ago, it entered into a trilateral deal with eBay and China Post to help Chinese sellers send small packages to the U.S. in a much shorter period of time than regular international delivery services.

Two months ago, the USPS recognized eBay for driving technology innovation with the USPS to make shipping and billing faster and easier for eBay sellers, including its eBay Fast 'N Free program, and it presented eBay with the Partnership for Progress award.

Of this week's news, Kelly Sigmon, Vice President of Channel Access for the U.S. Postal Service, said, "Our customers have told us they would like more payment options when shipping online and that's why we are excited to announce we are now accepting PayPal."

Now, customers using Click-N-Ship now can choose to pay for their shipping labels using a credit card, Bill Me Later, or PayPal.
