eBay Sends Email Reminding Sellers of Spring Updates
By Ina Steiner
eBay sent out emails to sellers this week reminding them of impending changes that are part of the 2012 Spring Seller Update announced in February.
eBay classified the changes into two parts: "eBay Top-rated seller program will spotlight more great sellers - and that could include you"; and "Updates to boost your efficiency and profitability." But of course, as is the case with all seller updates, some of the changes are controversial - in this case, especially those changes impacting Top Rated Sellers.
As reported on the EcommerceBytes Blog last week, sellers are bracing for new Top Rated Seller requirements that go into effect in June - while many TRS sellers may be able to maintain their status, some will lose their TRS fee discounts - a hefty 20% off of FVF commission fees.
The reminder email links to a page summarizing the changes impacting sellers. A post on the eBay Announcement Board on Wednesday also reminded sellers of the changes and went into more detail. Sellers can also view a checklist, with a checkmark symbol next to changes that require sellers to update their listings.
