Barnes & Noble continues to receive prime exposure on eBay, receiving home-page exposure on Thursday as part of eBay's Daily Deals. eBay advertised a $50 coupon for the $249 Nook through its Daily Deals, and then offered 20% on a new Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet 16GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Silver, bringing the Daily Deals price to $199. The Daily Deals promotions are heavily promoted through email and social networking, including Twitter.
On Wednesday eBay also featured the B&N Nook in an email to shoppers with the subject line, "Top tech for any budget," separate from the emails that go to Daily Deal subscribers. Over the past few years, eBay has routinely done deals with large retailers and manufacturers, and eBay began doing special deals with Barnes & Noble in 2010, bragging that it helped Barnes & Noble sell thousands of Nooks on eBay over the Thanksgiving holiday that year. |
