UPS is partnering with Kabbage, a provider of working capital for online merchants operating on eBay, Amazon, Yahoo Stores, Etsy and Shopify. UPS Capital has provided Kabbage with a new debt facility specifically intended to fund small ecommerce businesses through Kabbage's proprietary system.

In addition, small businesses will be able to direct UPS to share their shipping history with Kabbage via the Kabbage.com website, giving the company more information about merchants' operations, which Kabbage uses to determine how much capital and at what rates it will provide the seller.

Kabbage recently named former Amazon executive Sam Wheeler Vice President of Business Development to lead the company's partnership and data acquisition efforts. By integrating with marketplaces, social networking sites and shipping companies, Kabbage gets a better picture of merchants' operations to lower its risk.
