eBay Runs Weeklong Auction Promotion for Store Owners Only

eBay is running a week-long promotion for sellers who have an eBay Store subscription. eBay Store owners can list up to 50,000 auctions with no listing fees from February 15 - 21, 2012 (The Buy It Now option is not included). Sellers who don't have a Stores subscription are excluded from the promotion.

Over the past year, eBay has included Store owners in many of its free-listing day promotions, but last week, eBay ran a 1-day promotion that excluded Store owners, and many of them were fuming. (One seller posted on the eBay discussion boards that he had missed the fine print and listed 8,000 auction listings thinking they were free, and found out it cost him $2,200!)

In the latest promotion that kicks off on Wednesday, Store owners can list a maximum of 50,000 items as part of the promotion on the U.S. site, www.ebay.com, eBay Motors at www.eBayMotors.com (Parts & Accessories only), and eBay Canada at www.ebay.ca. eBay warned Store owners that existing selling limits on their account, as well as category and item limits, still apply and could prevent them from creating the maximum number of listings in the promotion.

eBay is using the promotion to encourage sellers to open a store - in its announcement, eBay writes, "Both current and new eBay Stores subscribers are eligible for this offer, so if you've been considering opening an eBay Store, now's a great time! For as little as $15.95 a month, an eBay Stores subscription offers discounted Fixed Price insertion fees and final value fee rates, free pictures and powerful marketing tools to help boost your sales."

All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.
