PayPal Seeks Managers to Run Point of Sale Initiative

PayPal made headlines with its point-of-sale pilot program at The Home Depot that allows shoppers to checkout at the home improvement stores using only a phone number and pin. The eBay company is now looking to fill new positions to support the initiative, including a Director of Point of Sale & Mobile, a Senior Manager POS Merchant Marketing, a Senior Product Manager of POS Merchant Solutions, and a POS Sales Operations.

PayPal's new director of point of sale and mobile will "drive new ventures such as the point-of-sale initiative and its mobile products" and will report to the Global Marketing Director of New Ventures.

Job responsibilities include: Developing POS and mobile launch marketing strategies, tactical marketing mix and customer experience; Developing global POS and mobile value proposition positioning, messaging and brand look, feel, tone; Executing detailed, multi-region, multi-channel, integrated marketing plans and budgets to drive customer demand, working collaboratively with regional marketing partners; and, Negotiating high-level marketing value exchange in retailer and partner channels.

PayPal is also looking for a Senior Manager POS Merchant Marketing who will work directly with PayPal merchants and will drive merchant marketing for the PayPal point-of-sale initiative, and will report to the Global Marketing Senior Director of Merchant Marketing & Customer Experience.

A new Senior Product Manager, POS Merchant Solutions will join PayPal's Merchant Solutions Product Management team reporting to the Director of Product Management - POS Merchant Solutions. The manager will help define the merchant platform vision for PayPal's retail merchant product suite and assist in the development of key strategic partnerships to aid the company in achieving its POS merchant acquisition strategy.

The POS Sales Operations new hire will develop and maintain a communications and events plan with the goal of publicly generating demand for the PayPal retail solution, will research and seek strategic events for quality merchant attendance to drive engagement and leads, and will negotiate speaking opportunities and PayPal participation at key industry tradeshows as well as managing the booth and running B2B webinars for merchants, partners, and analysts.

PayPal's POS initiative is part of its strategic priority that includes a mobile and cloud wallet.
