eBay Launches Guaranteed Arrival Holiday Delivery Program
By Ina Steiner
eBay has launched a new feature called Guaranteed Arrival to highlight items that are available to be delivered in time for the holidays - guaranteed. At this time, it is only available to a small number of eBay sellers, including ShoeMall and Black and Decker. Based on the results of the pilot, eBay said it might expand the program to additional holidays and to additional sellers.
For eligible listings, eBay displays the words "Guaranteed arrival available" in green in search results pages and on view item pages. Guaranteed Arrival items purchased by December 19 are guaranteed to be delivered by December 24, or eBay will issue the shopper a $20 eBay Gift Certificate. (Guaranteed Arrival has no impact on eBay's claims process.)
eBay also displays participating items in its gift guide under "Last minute gifts."
Participating sellers are required to upload tracking numbers for all Guaranteed Arrival sales, and eBay will use the tracking number status to track delivery.
