Etsy Sales Rise 62 Percent in October over Last Year

Sales by Etsy merchants rose 4.3% in October 2011 from the prior month to $48.4 million, which was 62% higher year-over-year. And for the second month in a row, Etsy traffic exceeded over 1 billion page views, the marketplace having first broken the billion-pageview milestone in September 2011 when it received 1.14 billion page views.

Etsy again reached higher new-member growth (up 56% from last October) than new items listed (down 13% from last year).

Etsy has not yet published November sales figures, but the company revealed that Cyber Monday (November 28, 2011) sales were up 80% over last year. The number of shops with sales on Cyber Monday increased by 61% compared to last year, and average sales per shop increased 11%. Over 15 million visitors came to the site between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Etsy said mobile traffic to its site over the long Thanksgiving weekend was up almost 350 percent higher than last year's traffic from mobile devices.
