Etsy Launches Themed Landing Pages

Etsy launched three new shopping pages: Fashion, Home and Garden and Kids. Etsy spokesperson Adam Brown said Etsy's goal was to promote discovery through a blend of different features and tools for buyers and sellers. "With the increased traffic that we anticipate during the holidays, we're looking forward to introducing a whole new community of shoppers to Etsy sellers."

The landing pages are a blend of curated content and category-based searches, changing frequently to represent trends in the Etsy marketplace and beyond. Creating theme- or category-based landing pages is common as a way to make it easier for shoppers to find items and as a search optimization strategy to attract visitors- for example, the eBay Halloween landing page and the Amazon Halloween store and Halloween Grocery Store.

Etsy advised sellers, "following appropriate guidelines for tagging, use matching keywords on your relevant item listings to appear within search results linking from these new pages."

Etsy also reminded sellers it has launched its seasonal Gifts Email for the holiday season including Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the classic December gifting holidays: Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa and told them now is the time to list their full holiday line with clear seasonal tags.
