Overstock.com CEO Patric Byrne said the company would use O.info as a website destination to consolidate useful consumer information. "The .info domain is the logical destination for visitors to find product information, user manuals, buying guides, manufacturer and brand reviews, video demonstrations and recall notices. We believe that the O.info site will be particularly useful to the savvy consumer who is looking for information from and willing to share insight with a trusted source like O.co." Overstock.com closed its third-party marketplace in July, going against the current trend of other retailers and marketplaces who are opening 3P marketplaces, such as Buy.com, Sears, Walmart and NewEgg. In a press release Overstock.com said O.co would continue to evolve as the online retailer's brand in the coming months. |
