eBay Changes Shipping-Cost DSR Feedback Policy
By Ina Steiner
eBay will now automatically award sellers five stars in their shipping cost DSRs if they offer free shipping and meet certain criteria. eBay spokesperson Johnna Hoff said the policy change currently applies only to U.S. and Canada marketplaces and said eBay is evaluating roll-outs to other locations. eBay Ink blogger Andy Chase said via Twitter that the policy would be "coming soon to other sites including UK, DE, AU."
In order to qualify for automatic 5-star shipping-cost DSR ratings, transactions must adhere to the following requirements:
- A seller must offer a Free Shipping option on their item.
- A buyer must choose the free shipping option during payment.
- eBay must be able to verify the buyer didn't pay shipping costs by using verifiable payment methods and using eBay Checkout.
eBay said sellers must offer PayPal, MoneyBookers, PayMate or ProPay. In addition, third-party checkouts will work as long as they provide the full post back information to eBay.
