PayPal announced a collaboration with Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), a national government agency, in which PayPal's mobile payment platform will power the mcommerce infrastructure of Singapore's Digital Concierge program.

The company said it expects to see hundreds of mobile services and apps powered by PayPal in Singapore over the next few years, and pointed to Singaporean shopping site Reebonz, which has developed a soon-to-be-launched iPhone app that will allow members to purchase any of its products via PayPal on an iPhone anytime, anywhere.

Last month, PayPal announced a strategic partnership with Maxis Berhad, the leading telecom operator in Malaysia with more than 12 million subscribers. Starting this summer, Maxis and PayPal will bring mobile payment solutions to Maxis customers via a new "Maxis-PayPal Account."
