V Communications, publisher of advanced PC utilities, launched Final Bid, a new "online auction bid manager." Final Bid manages auctions and places bids for items at the last possible moment (called sniping by eBayers), believed to increase the chance of winning auctions at a lower price. Final Bid includes a variety of features, including monitoring; search; bid groups; and clock synchronization to ensures the user's bid clock precisely matches eBay's clock. The software also organizes bids, pictures, inquiries and more. The desktop program costs $49.99 and users pay no transaction fees. Final Bid joins other sniping programs, such as eSnipe, which has over 100,000 registered users. (See AuctionBytes chart of sniping services at http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/pages/sniping.) |
