QuikDrop International said it has obtained authorization by the State of New York to begin franchising its eBay drop-off store concept immediately. State approval for QuikDrop franchises are pending in Maryland, Virginia and Illinois. QuikDrop is already approved in 38 other states.

QuikDrop has signed franchise contracts to open 188 stores in the United States and 75 stores internationally. In separate news releases today, QuikDrop announced that it opened in Virginia Beach and signed leases for stores in Dallas, Las Vegas, San Diego and Orange County, California.

New or used items with a value of $50 or more can be dropped off at any QuikDrop location where they are photographed and placed on the eBay website. Once sold, QuikDrop handles the payment and shipping details with the winning bidder. The customer receives a check in the mail for the full amount of the sale less a commission to QuikDrop.
