Following the success of its first ever face-to-face community event in California in June 2002, CEO Meg Whitman announced on July 31 that eBay will hold its second community convention in Orlando in late June of 2003.

"The key to eBay's success has always been our strong, vibrant community. Nowhere was that fact more apparent than at eBay Live 2002," Whitman said via the eBay community message board.

eBay Live! 2002 was held in June in Anaheim, California, where several thousand members gathered to take classes and listen to eBay executives discuss features and polices. Many attendees welcomed the chance to meet fellow eBayers and employees in person. The conference included a trade show hall where third-party vendors exhibited their products and services.

No specific dates or venues for next year's conference were announced. The first conference was held across the street from Walt Disney Land in Anaheim. Orlando is the home of Walt Disney World.
