eBay Seller Unable to Get New Markdown Manager to Work

By: Reader

Dear Ina,
I use eBay Markdown Manager every month to put all 1000 items in my store on sale at 10% off. I tried the new one and no matter what I do I cannot figure out how it works and there is no place I can find for specific instructions.

So I guess to add to the slowest month I just had in 17 years on eBay, none of my items will ever be on sale again.

At least eBay has not changed "BEST OFFER" yet, that I have on all items. The definitive word here is "yet". I'm sure they will find a way to screw around with this soon. They have everything else.
Steve

Hard to believe anyone with any experience with fleecebay would be surprised it doesn't work.

Just add it to the list of things that doesn't.

Markdown Manager and Emailing Marketing do not work now. Ebay is expensive with tools breaking all the time.  Lowest month in 17 years here too.

I've been using the new markdown manager for a month or so -- as soon as it showed up and although I hate the interface -- its way more steps to do the same thing --it was working until today

sales that are active do not show on the list
or they were scheduled to be ended but are still actively on sale
its a mess I have lots of different sales going on all the time and now there is no way for me to see whats up
the list is suddenly upside down
and a new sale I have been trying to launch either is not launching or not showing in the list
its clearly broken
everything is broken on ebay now
the new hub is basically a broken sales manager pro

I feel ya. In Canada we don't have either markdown or the new promo manager at this time. However - a helpful (hard to fathom, but yes there are a few left) eBay rep showed me a work-around. Go to markdown manager, select one of your closed sales events, click on edit - changing the start / end dates, all the stuff you'd do with the old markdown mngr. I was not expecting it to work, but I just got my 3rd weekly markdown sale to go thru. Hope it works for anyone who gives it a shot.

My first experience was horrible. I divide my items into two categories when listing in my store. I put them in the category they are such as dolls, games, etc and in the second category, I list by month so I can keep track of newly listed items and not put them on sale right away.  In the old way, I would manually list everything and then take out the past couple of months I didn't want to put up for sale. Easy Peasy. The new manager is kind of a reverse procedure, so I choose all the categories I want up EXCEPT for those couple of months. Unfortunately, eBay failed to figure out that sellers list in 2 categories, so even though I took out the MONTH categories, they still were in the item categories so everything went up for sale, even items that I listed a few hours earlier.  Needless to say, this version sucks. I have been spending the last month editing all my listings to take out the second category and leave just the month category so I can put the right items on sale. It's very time consuming. Another negative is that my buyers won't get a good experience when looking in my store as a majority of my store items will only be listed under the month, so they'll have to use the search function in order to see what I have.

I made the mistake of putting all my costumes on free shipping through markdown manager last month and as they sold I tried to end them and only the ones with that sale would not end with my inventory service (all other items did - not on free shipping markdown), could not manually adjust the quantity either. I had to manually end each one.
Not many sold on ebay; worst Halloween on ebay ever.
