eBay Seller Struggles to Get PayPal Funds Released

By: Reader

Dear Ina,
Had to call PayPal today, for the 5th time, to see why my money was still on hold after eBay closed the INR (Item Not Received) case in my favor.

Funny to hear the PayPal recording saying "think of us as a safe-deposit box". How true: I felt like I was in Hotel California, checking in my money, but never be able to check it out...

Anyway, it took 4 calls to PayPal, 2 calls to eBay, 2 emails to PP, until I finally managed to connect with the right person, who actually did release my money 6 days after eBay closed the case. Wow, thank you PayPal for letting me have my money!!!!!

Paypal customer service has become worse than Ebay's has ever been.

My last several calls to Paypal   left me speechless.  Their attitude was incomprehensible.

File a complaint with your state's overseer of PP, usually a Commissioner of Banks.  Years ago I fell into ebay purgatory where they wanted to hold all my payments for 21 days.  In my state, state law says money transmitters (like PP) can only hold funds for 10 days.  Within hours of filing my complaint online, my funds were all released and no further hold was ever applied.
