Seller Reports Delayed and Missing Funds with PayPal Sweeps

Dear Ina,
I am in Oz (Australia) - one of my transfers from PayPal on the 16 April 2012 has not shown up in my bank account. Payments withdrawn before and after have appeared.

I rang PayPal and was informed that "a few other people have reported this problem on the 16th." I was told to wait till Fri. PM to re contact PayPal as it was my bank's responsability and nothing to do with PayPal. As EFT non receipt is usually the senders responsability I am not sure where I stand.

PayPal has been particularly sketch recently - there was the "Risk" flag which threw me for a day, now disappeared and the auto sweep of my PayPal account did not occur for three consecutive days. I withdrew anyway, but did not receive the usual PayPal outraged email saying the automatic sweep was not able to be completed, which indicates the auto sweep was never going to happen.

Usually if I withdraw in the am one day, the money is in my account the next evening. Not since last Friday. Up to a day later than usual.

I think PayPal has some big issues and hopefully the upgrade this weekend will solve some issues? or make them worse. I remain hopeful.

UPDATE: Update on the "missing" Oz PayPal payments from the 16 April, 2012;
I telephoned my bank and they placed the responsability firmly on PayPal; I telephoned PayPal and was informed that a) the money was not lost b) there were a large number of people who had "missed" their payments and that they would forward my details to the area sorting this out and my name was added to the list!! c) they expected to have it sorted by today, Friday 20 April or early next week.

I suggested there had been a "software" malfunction because the auto sweep had not worked for the previous three days and that the time of the transaction on the 16 April was unusual - 3.40am, NOT the usual 6 to 7 am. I also pointed out I had not received any email from PayPal advising me the sweep had not occurred despite my withdrawal during the period it SHOULD have occurred.

To add to the confusion, I received in my account at 12.20 pm the money swept from my payPal account at 7am yesterday - this is the earliest I have received money from PayPal EVER!!!!

Lets hope the upgrade tonight goes well.

I too am in Australia and also have not seen the funds I withdrew from my paypal account on monday the 16th in over a week .. I too called paypal and was told some dubious story that it was an issue with my bank

I call my bank and was assured that they are having no issues and considering funds from other sources have arrived on time I believe them

it is my intention to raise this issue with the Banking Ombudsman

the sooner paypal is regulated the better

An impatient customer recently opened a case when their item was 2 days late (without contacting me first, of course.)

In any case, eBay/PP put the funds in an on-hold pattern... which completely DISABLED my automatic sweeps until the buyer acknowledged that their item had indeed arrived.

And even then, even though it was automatically disabled, PP apparently has no provision to automatically ENABLE it again once everything has been resolved.

Idiots.
