eBay Android App Not Showing Seller's Other Items

By: Ina Steiner

Dear Ina,
I used my Android to search one of my own auctions to see what buyers see on the eBay mobile app. I found one of my items and when I clicked on the see sellers other items tab, the new screen result said 0 items found. I was shocked. I tested it again on two friend's phones and got the same Zero items found result.

I posted the problem on the eBay mobile board and on the Get Satisfaction eBay mobile board. I did receive an email from eBay asking me to send them more information. They claimed they had no problems and found my items.

So I took pictures of the screen shots of each step of the process and sent it to them. They did reply and say "we obviously have a problem" and we will look into it.

As of this morning, 4 days since I discovered this, I still get zero results if I try to see my other items. I have no idea how long this has actually been going on, but I'm wondering if this is why I have seen a dramatic drop in the views on all of my items.

With so many people using mobile devices for shopping online, you would think eBay would have fully tested its mobile app before putting it out there.

Note: the OP just emailed me to say the problem was finally fixed.

Glad to see it's fixed... but it's unclear if this problem was happening across-the-board to ALL sellers' listings, or just small sellers listings, or just the OP's listings.

Personally, I've found smartphone buyers to be a bit of a pain. For one reason or another, they rarely read the listing... and they merrily ''tap-tap-buy'' without knowing what they're buying. (Is it too difficult to read detailed listings on smartphones? Or, is it just that smartphone users don't like to get bogged down in the details?)

I've often wished for a way to block my listings from being displayed to smartphone users... So in that regard, I might have considered this to be a blessing if this ''glitch'' had happened to me.

eBay's "app" is "crapp"...as usual.

Uhhh...that's not a photo of the mobile "app".  That's the web browser based mobile page.

The actual android and Iphone apps are really pretty good (as these app things go).  Lots of search options and easy access to most of the My Ebay functions.

Far better than the rudimentary Amazon app, which has no search options other than "category" - you can't even alter the sort (at least on Android).
