Sellers Confused after eBay Changed Best Offer Flow
By: Ina Steiner
eBay caused confusion after it changed the way it allows sellers to respond to Best Offers from shoppers looking to haggle. A reader explained she received an offer on an item but couldn't find how to accept it. "When clicking on "respond to offer," there is no place to send the buyer an answer," she wrote.
"In order to reply to the sender, I had to email him directly to tell him I have lowered the price of the item to his offer. Fingers crossed he gets the message."
Sellers also discussed the change in the eBay discussion board
. When a seller said they felt stupid asking for help in figuring out how to respond to a Best Offer, a colleague replied, "No need to feel stupid. They just changed it and everyone has been confused by it. From what I understand, if you click on the box that has the details of the offer, it will bring up another screen with an accept offer option."
Another seller showed a screenshot to show users where to click. (Click on the link above to see the screenshot if you're having trouble finding it.)
Our reader wrote back to say she had found a way to accept the offer but said "it was not via the usual drop down menu next to the listing."
