I suspect that in reality eBay sales are atrophying and eBay is having to come up with such creative ideas to try to improve same; to bad nothing that these devious, deceptive, incompetent cretins could possibly dream up will likely make any difference; regardless, this (desperate) overriding of sellers’ preferences has the pungent smell of death about it …

Totally AGREE with that Patricia! ~ Surely they're smart enough to know that when they do such things, there will definitely be backlash and negative reactions.

So... somebody, somewhere, calculated the risk and cost, and compared it to the potential benefit vs the potential loss as more sellers FLEE FROM eBay.

I am SO GLAD to be away from that cesspool of lies and deceit. Trickery, fraud, slight-of-hand... whatever you want to call it, it's just WRONG to automatically ''opt-in'' sellers without their affirmative knowledge and decision.

No, eBay... sorry... burying it in the TOS may be ''legal'' but it's still WRONG. These types of things reveal a LOT about what kind of EVIL and GREEDY company eBay has become.

Yet, for all their greed... and for all the things that they feel SO CONFIDENT about... where is the SUCCESS? Why isn't eBay stock higher? Why aren't the profits higher?

You'd think they'd get a clue.

But no... no clues to be found.

Surely there are some smart people within the walls of eBay who realize how so many policies have failed... but I imagine they feel compelled to keep it to themselves and remain ''team-players'' who ''stick with the program'' (for fear of losing their jobs?)

Nobody wants to tell the King that he's wearing no clothes.

It's just a culture of arrogance and petulant stubbornness. They're so convinced that they're right (living inside their bubble of yes-men and yes-women) that they'll NEVER in a hundred years even consider the possibility that they are WRONG.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!

Backwards.

Asses.

The sad part is...they don't know how they look and they don't care what the reactions will be.  They are so accustomed to having things there way that they don't realize life goes on and sellers will find their way on other sites.  I'm selling more now then I did on Ebay and I have nothing listed on ebay :-)  It does feel really good!

eBay wants sellers to sell to anyone, anywhere. eBay risks nothing, sellers risk everything. Sounds like a profitable plan for eBay.

We might not have "known"  that this particular "over ride"  would be forced on sellers using the GSP but we knew SOMETHING was coming---they were a few days early with their April FOOL announcement.

They will soon ---IMHO---force the "Returns"  program on ALL and force ALL to return to being regular old sellers no Power Sellers required here nothing to see move along.  

So glad I did not willingly opt into the GSP--and I do keep an eye on being forcibly opted in!  I also make an active choice to try and guide all International Sales OFF of ebay so that my customers DON'T have to pay the outrageous "Registered Mail"  fee--which BTW is NOT trackable beyond IN USA Customs!!!!---yet ebay FORCES you to HAVE this----and I have been VERY successful in doing this.

I sell International. I prefer to deal directly with the International buyers.

I don't know what the heck they do in Kentucky to avoid weight. If eBay can make sellers immune and protect 99.9999999%. I will not have problem to accept it, but at lot of issues aren't very clear.

Ebay is nothing but a death trap to put it bluntly. Those staying as sellers are lined up for death row or extermination. Sounds over the top, I know, but this is what ebay has become. Sales go from bleak to abysmal with only a glimmer of sales here and there. Suckering in unbeknownst sellers with lies, manipulation, underlying threats for ebay's financial gain is unethical and immoral besides criminal. Having dependent (livelihood or supplemental income) sellers coerced (unspoken blackmail) into their UA agreeing to only arbitration and then abusing the hell out of them. Held up to any light, ebay is only a shell of what it use to be. It is no longer a thriving company. Ebay stands for oppression with holding back good sellers from succeeding in THEIR business with THEIR buyers. Ebay feels justified in getting carte blanche with anything written or even buried in their UA. How is this abuse of power right?

Good grief!  EBay may not be for you. But it works just fine for millions of sellers.  My TRS+ is safe no matter the changes eBay is making.

Sorry I do admit it was way overboard with that statement. Rough day on ebay with nothing selling and feel the cloak of visibility over my listings.

It does depend on what you are selling but I do wonder how many sellers feel "safe" as you claim especially with all the changes ebay is making. It must be nice.

If you sell items that are tradable in the US, but are restricted exports to certain countries (eg: Ukraine) & ebay enroles you in GSP, who comes after you, the ATF or the CIA?

Why would any seller want to use global shipping
The parcel I have on the way was picked up by Fedex 18th March and only left the UD 8 days later
Remains to be seen what condition the item is in as its breakable
I told  the item is repacked  in the smallest amount of packing and items double boxed are reduced to single box to the lower the weight and shopping cost
Its  only going to reach me end of this week if im lucky thats approx a week longer  than when the seller posts out themselves
and there is ebay allowing buyers to penalise sellers just for the delivery service being a day late parcels being a day late

good job im not an impatient buyer
