eBay Bugs Hit Business Policies and Automation Rules
By: Ina Steiner
A reader reported a problem with eBay Business Policies - you should be able to view all of your listings that have a specific policy, but sellers are reporting that's no longer the case, making it impossible to view and edit them.
As eBay explains
, Business Policies are the payment, shipping, and return details you specify for buyers in your listings. It's powerful, since you can have one type of return policy for new items, and another return policy for one-of-a-kind items.
The feature helps sellers streamline new listing creation (you can assign a new listing a certain return policy, for example, without having to copy and paste it into the listing form), and if you want to tweak a policy for a certain type of product, you can do so without having to edit each listing.
Two sellers reported the problem
on the eBay discussion boards as well. On Saturday, the original poster explained that for the past couple of weeks they had been unable to view the respective active items under each Business Policy.
"EXPECTED OUTCOME: In "Business Policies" section of the Seller Hub, when clicking the numerical-value link to the far-right column of listings in the respective policy, the respective individual active listings with the respective Business Policy should display as a result (IE: If a seller has a Shipping Policy named "Free Shipping" with 50 items linked to that policy, clicking on the "50" should deliver the user to a search page with only those 50 individual listings properly filtered and selected from all Active Listings.
"ACTUAL OUTCOME: Instead of displaying listings properly filtered by the respective Business Policy, the user is dropped on the Listings page showing ALL active listings without any filters."
The seller even posted a screenshot to illustrate the problem.
A reader also reported problems with Automation Rules, reporting they are not working in Seller Hub as they had in Selling Manager Pro. According to their Ecommerce EKG report
: "Seller Hub - no way to now tell if an item has an Automation Rule assigned or not as was able to in SMP."
Has anyone else experienced these problems, and have you found a workaround? It sounds like a Herculean task to edit listings without these features working.
