Etsy sellers who have spent time and effort promoting their listings on social networking sites are upset due to a change the marketplace made to their listings. Now when someone clicks on a link to their listing from a social networking site, they see other sellers' listings front and center, rather than the sellers own item being featured.
A reader told us about another case
: "A seller who has over 30,000 sales started the following thread because when she clicked on her Pinterest photo, her photo was crowded out with photos and links to other shops. This is theft. She has had a shop for over ten years, over 30,000 sales and they are dispersing her work to other shops." The discussion thread links to images that show exactly why the new practice is so upsetting to sellers.
We reached out to Etsy today to see if there was a workaround but have yet to hear back, stay tuned.
