eBay warned users
there could be delays of deliveries from the US to the UK through its the Global Shipping program due to increased security around the Manchester, UK area.
The company was referring to the bombing incident in Manchester on the night of May 22nd, and eBay posted the announcement with the headline, "eBay Extends our Deepest Sympathy to All Those Affected by the Recent Bombing in Manchester."
eBay said it would extend seller protections for US sellers involved in such transactions. "There are no actions you need to take; eBay will automatically apply the protections."
Royal Mail also issued two advisories - the first noted
that normal deliveries and collections "should take place in almost all parts of the UK today" (May 24th), and noted "Mail deliveries and collections will be attempted in all parts of Manchester City Centre today, where access is possible and it's safe for our people to perform them."
issued yesterday warned, "Please note, mail posted between the UK and Europe may be delayed due to the current security situation."
International shipments always add an extra challenge, be aware that heightened security could impact delivery times in certain areas of the world, at least in the short term.
