New Twitter Headline Images: a Boon for Sellers?

Twitter announced that today it's rolling out updated profiles for everyone, new ones that have the capability to add header and background images. As the whole Internet seems to be going image-crazy lately, and looking more and more like Pinterest, these new images should be a welcome additional branding tool for online sellers, whether they sell on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, their own web sites, or some combination thereof.
I thought Twitter made an especially cute and helpful animated video showing just how people can upload these images and brighten up their profiles, though I'm not sure about the outer-space-dinosaurs theme.
Many sellers will no doubt seize the opportunity to add more visual pizazzz to their Twitter pages, whether it be their own logo our images of their products. The examples Twitter gave in their announcement were of brands such as "Mr. Clean" and celebrities such as Ryan Seacrest (who managed to jam in four other celebrities in his image).
In terms of the online selling world, I checked out friend and fellow eBay ebook seller Suzanne Wells' "eBayCoach" Twitter profile, and sure enough it was blinged out with a fun header with her logo, as well as a background design.
How about you? Are you going to take advantage of this new Twitter feature to better brand yourself on Twitter? Or even just to add dinosaur pictures? And will this help followers or customers remember you better? What are some of the best examples you've seen? And, from a larger perspective, is the Web going "image crazy"? Post a comment here! |
